Like all of the other stages, I enjoyed the prototyping stage more than expected. Overall, the whole design thinking process has been different than I thought it would have been. I imagined it to be a colder, technical process that took place in a lab. I never thought that it could be done using post – it notes. Similarly, I imagined a prototype to be a physical product like a rough phone design. Yes, my group’s website is a physical product, but it was the product that I was thinking of when I think of a prototype.
The article about low fidelity prototyping was interesting, and also started to change how I see prototyping. I never thought of a pen and paper drawing as a prototype, but that article informed me of different ways of prototyping. Overall, this phase was helpful as it forced the group to put our ideas in writing – it also allowed team members with stronger technical skills to shine.
