Hi, my name is Vanessa and I’m a senior majoring in Government with a minor in Management and Organizational Leadership.
I’m from a rural county just west of Williamsburg, and my small town roots have fueled a love of travel. I studied abroad in Cardiff, Wales, one of the best decisions I could have made during my university career. My passion for travel and study abroad led me to work as a Study Abroad Peer Advisor, where I help other students find the best study abroad program for them. I love to read, though I often find that the business of college doesn’t allow for much of it. I am a big fan of memoirs – reading other peoples’ stories often helps me understand my own more fully.
On campus, I also work as a caller for Phonathon and as a Spotswood Society proctor in the Wren Building. I am a sister of Alpha Chi Omega and the former president of the American Indian Student Association. I have internship experience in both the non-profit (as a Summer Intern with the National Congress of American Indians’ Policy Research Center) and corporate (as a Summer Intern with AT&T on the FirstNet Strategy and Policy Team) spheres. I am excited to work with you this semester!
